For the first time in the history of the
California Art Club's Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, the fine art
organization will present a collection of miniature paintings as part of
its much anticipated showcase of contemporary-traditional artwork. The mission of the Club, which is
headquartered in Pasadena, Calif.

awards at the eighth annual Masters of the American West Fine Art
Exhibition and Sale, held at the Autry National Center's Museum of the

The museum's executive
director , Robert Edison, presented Pinkham with his award at a ceremony on
Saturday, March 5, the evening before the three-week exhibition opened to
the public. Carlson also received the
John J. Geraghty Award in recognition of his outstanding support of
contemporary Western art.

The 80 miniatures , each no larger than 9" x 12," will complement the 109
paintings and 16 sculptures selected by a panel of museum scholars for
inclusion in the 95th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition, which will take
place at the Pasadena Museum of California Art from April 2 to 23.
