Returning for his 44th year as host/emcee is the Godfather of Philly Folk
Music, WXPN radio personality and Festival co-founder Gene Shay, whose four
decades of dedication, preservation and promotion of folk music have become
legendary - not only in Philadelphia, but around the country. NEW YORK, This Thursday is Cinco de Mayo, in other
words -- "Party Time" at a quirky Brooklyn Laundromat that plans to go "Loco"
on the annual Latin festival to end all festivals.
Laundry Depot will feature the authentic Salsa music performing spicy
tunes to the delight of its customers.

"quieter" area of the tent camping, where campers there are asked,

Owner Bob Golden, who opened Laundry Depot almost one year ago adds, "We

outdoor lobby that welcomes festivalgoers as they pass through the main
entrance with an active area of dance, merchandise, crafts and, in the
Philadelphia Folksong Society tent, space for members to gather and meet."
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the day 4,000 Mexican soldiers, against
incredible odds, defeated the French and traitor Mexican army totaling 8,000
in the town of Puebla, Mexico on the morning of May 5, 1862.
