SEATTLE , The 2005 Northwest Folklife Festival --
the largest folk, ethnic and traditional arts festival west of the other
Washington -- will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 27th through 30th, at
Seattle Center.m.

Parking is available at Underground Atlanta decks and various
downtown lots, including Five Points and Underground Atlanta
MARTA stations .

34-year history, will feature 6,000 musicians, dancers, tradition bearers and
visual artists, in more than 1,000 music and dance performances, visual arts
and folklore exhibits, symposia, workshops, craft and cooking demonstrations

More than 2,000 volunteers are helping to organize the Festival, which is
expected to attract more than 275,000 visitors during its four-day run. "In a world
dominated by opposites -- love and hate, wealth and poverty , hope and despair
-- the Festival is a celebration of the strength, hope and resolve that people
and communities derive from their cultural diversity.

year's Cultural Focus, Generation to Generation: Passing on our Traditions,
will highlight folk artists who are exemplary bearers of tradition in special
concerts, exhibits and demonstrations.
Festival at Underground Atlanta (March 16 - 18) will continue
after the event.
