LAS VEGAS, When, in 1829, Mexican scout Rafael
Rivera veered off the path to Los Angeles to look for water in the desert and
discovered Las Vegas, he had no idea of the entertainment oasis that it would
eventually grow into.

paying respect to Rivera -- as well as honoring all Mexicans as it drinks in

Committee, will be responsible for some other "firsts" -- three of Mexico's

ever and El Lucha Libre, a theatrical stunt show second in popularity in
Mexico only to soccer , will be presented live in Las Vegas for the first time
