Pryor, died from complications of surgery
on March 1, 2005.periods post

HARTFORD, Conn."
Pryor had been a
director of CompuDyne since 1985. Pryor had a
long and very distinguished business career, spanning
from the Singer
Company to the position of Chairman and CEO of Lydall Corporation, a
post he held
from 1972-1988.
Pryor's major focus in recent years has been his philanthropic
activities in the
Hartford, Connecticut area, primarily focused on
arts and culture. He served as president of the
Wadsworth Atheneum,
the Connecticut Opera, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Greater
Hartford
Arts Council as well as serving on many charitable and
philanthropic boards.
Pryor is survived
by his wife, Claire, and his twin daughters,
Esther Pryor and Elizabeth Bradley.art impressionism

Prior to the April
museum exhibition, the miniatures will be displayed at
Southern California venues to give art lovers
a glimpse of the artwork that
will be featured. The mission of the Club, which is
headquartered
in Pasadena, Calif.m.art periods
The 80 miniatures, each no larger than 9" x 12," will complement the 109
paintings and 16 sculptures selected by a panel of museum scholars for
inclusion in the 95th Annual
Gold Medal Juried Exhibition, which will take
place at the Pasadena Museum of California Art from
April 2 to 23.

During 95th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition
During March 7 to 27,
the works will be on display
at the Santa Ana and La Jolla offices of First
American Corporation and First American Trust.

For the first time in the
history of the
California Art Club's Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, the fine art
organization will
present a collection of miniature paintings as part of
its much anticipated showcase of contemporary
-traditional artwork.
"Showcasing miniature paintings at our Gold Medal Exhibition allows us
to
pay homage to an important element of the California Art Club's history,"
said artist Peter
Adams, the Club's president. "The Club was founded by
plein air painters, many of whom created small
scaled paintings on location
to capture the mood or lighting of a particular scene, only to recreate
the
images in larger formats in their studios," he added. Through February 10, the paintings can
be viewed at
Pacific Palms Conference Resort in Industry Hills., is to promote traditional fine arts
in
the fields of painting, drawing and sculpture, to produce and promote art
exhibits that foster
understanding and interpretation of traditional art
heritage and California history, and to furnish
educational opportunities
in fine arts. Pryor, at the time of his death, was a partner of Pryor
+
Clark, an investment firm, and was also a director of The Hartford
Funds and Infodata Systems
