First conclusion: concerning the future, supposing that these
countries were to apply to join the EU and met all the conditions for
accession, Ukraine is the country for which Europeans are the most in
favour of accession (55% in favour, 31% in disfavour) before Russia
(with respectively 50% and 38%), Turkey (45% and 43%) and Morocco (35%
and 50%). Because of the technical complexity of these tests,
ACMG, ACOG and the NHGRI have also recommended that laboratories conducting CF
carrier screening comply with stringent quality assurance guidelines.
