American Red Cross Greater Cleveland Chapter Launches Second Century Campaign

Lead donors to date include:
* A $1 million gift for operations and endowment from The Higley Family,
whose three-generation involvement in Chapter leadership dates back to
the late 1930s
* A perpetual trust of nearly $900,000, funding endowment, from Helen C.
"We have come to expect that the Red Cross will always be there to assist in
the event of disaster, and that we will always rely on the organization to
teach us to swim and help us stay prepared. Proceeds from the event will
benefit the non-profit Kuala Lumpur-based Nature Aid Foundation.

According to Chapter CEO Mary-Alice Frank, "The Second Century Campaign
will enhance service delivery and improve capability and stability in three
ways . It will increase annual support for daily operations; fund critical
capital needs such as a new generator, upgrades to the communications and
technology systems and to the Disaster Command Center; and triple the
Chapter's endowment to $10 million.

$20 Million Goal to Support Endowment , Capital and Operations

CLEVELAND, As part of its 100th anniversary
celebration, the American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter today announced
one of its most comprehensive fund raising endeavors -- a three-year,
$20 million Second Century Campaign. However, this can only happen if
we join together in support and ensure that the Greater Cleveland Chapter is
financially sound for generations to come.
