Directors + Boards magazine, in association with the National
Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), shows that the vast
majority of corporate board members rate formal CEO succession
planning as 'very important' or 'important' to the health and
profitability of their company, but that nearly half of companies do
not have a formal succession plan for the CEO position . More than 32% of these companies say they have no plans to
formalize their succession planning.
