needs of people living with paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries and other
injuries , diseases and birth defects, including (but not limited to) stroke,
spina bifida, multiple sclerosis , cerebral palsy and amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis. All funding for the health promotion grants is provided by the
CDC's grant to the Foundation.
"At a time when the American public is getting over its low-carb hangover,
it is important that the USDA is using the new guidance system to reinforce
basic nutritional facts and sound science," said Judi Adams, MS, RD, president
of the Grain Foods Foundation. Since 1998, when folic acid
fortification of enriched grains was mandated in the United States, neural-
tube birth defects, including spina bifida, have declined 26 percent.

physical disabilities to attend three-week camp sessions, at no cost, at one
of the established Foundation camp programs across the New York Metro area.
