ski racing community., The second annual Vail Veterans Ski
Weekend provides the opportunity for 19 American soldiers who are recuperating
from loss of limb to spend two days on the slopes learning to ski and
snowboard through Vail's Adaptive Ski Program, noted for its expertise in
helping those with disabilities to enjoy snow sports.

Vail event organizer Cheryl Jensen appealed to local businesses and
individuals to support the Vail Veterans Ski Weekend and with the help of
amputee Captain David Rozelle, representatives from the Walter Reed Army
Medical Center and a number of donations these soldiers will experience two
days of private ski and snowboard instruction plus non-skiing activities such
as snow tubing and ice skating.

Ethiopia didn't recognize skiing as an Olympic sport, so Teklemariam
established a ski federation for Ethiopia, along with bylaws for future
skiers .
